Free Wheelchair Mission’s 25th Anniversary Edition of Miracle of Mobility Raises More Than $2.5 Million

Guests celebrate 25 years of Free Wheelchair Mission's impact at Orange County's Miracle of Mobility event on September 10, 2026, held at Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
Three milestone events exceed fundraising goal, providing mobility to more than 23,500 people worldwide
IRVINE, CA, UNITED STATES, October 20, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Free Wheelchair Mission, a humanitarian, faith-based nonprofit that has distributed 1.6 million wheelchairs across 95 countries, raised more than $2.5 million through its 2026 Miracle of Mobility events, marking the highest fundraising total in the events’ history, exceeding its collective fundraising goal and providing mobility to more than 23,500 people living with disabilities in developing countries.Held during Free Wheelchair Mission’s 25th anniversary year, the events celebrated a quarter century of transforming lives through the gift of mobility while looking ahead to the organization’s goal of distributing three million wheelchairs by 2035.
Orange County’s Miracle of Mobility, presented by CapRock Partners, took place September 10 at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, California. Television host and producer Jason Kennedy hosted the evening, which brought together nearly 600 supporters and international distribution partners of Free Wheelchair Mission.
The celebration continued September 20 with the Virtual Miracle of Mobility, hosted by actress, producer, and author Candace Cameron Bure, who had previously traveled with Free Wheelchair Mission on a wheelchair distribution trip to the Dominican Republic and witnessed the impact of mobility firsthand.
“It was such a joy to be part of this year’s Virtual Miracle of Mobility during this special 25th anniversary celebration,” said Cameron Bure. “It fills my heart with gratitude to know that over these three events, we have helped provide mobility to more than 23,500 people. Behind every number is a person, a family, and a life changed. Thank you to everyone who gave so generously and made this record-breaking year possible!”
The virtual program also featured a special musical performance by four-time GRAMMY® Award-winning duo for KING + COUNTRY.
“We are so proud of how Free Wheelchair Mission is continually giving so many people new beginnings and the ability to experience life in a whole new way,” said Joel Smallbone of for KING + COUNTRY. "We’re thrilled to be able to be in it with you.”
The 2026 Miracle of Mobility events concluded October 10 in Seattle, featuring special guest speakers Nuka Hart, CEO of Free Wheelchair Mission, and Saba Marcos, founder of Agape Mobility Ethiopia, a distribution partner of the organization.
Together, the three events raised more than $2.5 million, surpassing their original goal of 23,150 lives transformed through mobility.
The achievement comes as the global need for wheelchairs remains significant. The World Health Organization estimates that approximately 80 million people, or 1% of the world’s population, require a wheelchair to assist their mobility. The vast majority of them cannot access one on their own.
“Exceeding our goal during our 25th anniversary year is an incredible testament to the generosity of our supporters,” said Hart. “Now, we’re looking ahead to an even bigger milestone: distributing three million wheelchairs by 2035.”
